Web Widget

The Web Widget is a versatile way to show a wide range of Web content on your digital signs. Most content that can be accessed over the Web can be presented using this widget. In some cases the security settings on the Web content providers site may block you from using this widget for their content. Web Widget

Configuring the Web Widget

To configure the Web widget follow the steps below:

  1. Clicking on the gear icon will open the control panel for the Web Widget. Web Widget Tools
  2. The first thing you will need to set is the URL for the Web content you wish to display.
  3. The second thing you will set is the REFRESH for this widget. This refers to how often your digital signage will request updates to the content.

    Pro Tip: If your content never really changes you can leave this to refresh "Never". Every time the content is displayed on the schedule it will automatically refresh.

  4. When you are done click the APPLY AND CLOSE button

How will you know if the content type will work?

You should get immediate feedback from inside the SmarterSign application if your content will work in the system. If you see a sad face Sad Face Icon your content is likely blocked by the provider.
