Connect to Your POS System
SmarterSign allows you to connect your Point of Sale (POS) system to display dynamic pricing, and inventory information on your digital signs. This is helpful in creating an efficient operation.
Supported POS Systems
SmarterSign integrates with various POS systems including:
- Square
- Clover
- Heartland
We are currently working with other POS providers to add to our integration list. If you have a POS that is not currently integrated with SmarterSign please let us know. We prioritize our integrations based on customer demand.
Setup Process
The setup process is different for each of the POS providers. See INTEGRATIONS for more information and the details for your POS provider.
Connecting your content to your POS
To connect your POS catalog items to items in your PROGRAM follow the steps below:
- Inside one of your PROGRAMS, right click on the item you want to connect to your POS catalog data (for example a price for an item on your menu)
- You will see a pop-up menu with the item "Connect to POS name"
- Click on this and you will get a window showing your catalog as seen below
Connecting to your catalog
- Search: You can search your catalog to find the item you wish to connect to
- Location Selection: For businesses that have multiple locations under the same POS account you will find a drop-down menu to select the correct location catalog to connect to.
- Catalog Item: You can connect your element in your design to any item in your catalog. Once you are connected to the item you can no longer edit the content in your design as the source for this data is your POS catalog item. Changes to this item in your POS will automatically be presented on your design.
- Modifiers: You can add modifiers to your item and the SmarterSign system will combine all modifiers and the base price to make your total on your design. In the example above you will see the base price is .0 and the modifier for the Small size is 4.65. This will make the item 4.65 on your design.
To disconnect the item in your design from the POS catalog, right click on the item and select "Remove Data
