Installing SmarterSign on Samsung

This guide will walk you through the installation process for SmarterSign on Samsung display devices.

System Requirements

Installing SmarterSign Player on a Samsung screen requires one of two types of displays from Samsung

  1. A commercial display with Samsung SSSP
  2. A consumer display with the Samsung App Store

Most of the newer Samsung consumer displays have the capability of installing the SmarterSign Player App. To find out if your screen has this capability, the best thing to do is search for SmarterSign in the App store.

Installing SmarterSign Player on a Samsung Commercial display with SSSP

  1. Power up the screen and follow the on screen prompts.
  2. Select your default language
  3. Determine if your screen is going to be a landscape screen or a portrait screen
  4. If you're going to use a wireless network, follow the prompts to connect your screen to the WiFi network and enter in the password.
  5. Go through and Agree to the Smart Signage Privacy terms
  6. Select play via the URL launcher (There is one change to this that Samsung made on some displays. Instead of URL Launcher it is now called Custom App.)
  7. Enter in the following URL (http://t.smartersign.com) for a landscape screen and (http://t.smartersign.com/24/portrait) for a portrait screen
  8. Skip the step to connect to a RM server
  9. Make sure your date and time is correct
  10. Click on the home button and launch the URL launcher menu
  11. Select the SmarterSign Logo from the URL launcher (or Custom App)
  12. After installing the software you should see a screen with a pairing code. Follow the instructions on PAIRING A PLAYER to connect this new install to your SmarterSign account.

Installing from the Samsung App store

This is a very simple process. Simply go to the Samsung App store on your display using the remote control. Search for SmarterSign and you should see the SmarterSign Player app available in the store. Install the app and launch it.

After installing the software you should see a screen with a pairing code. Follow the instructions on PAIRING A PLAYER to connect this new install to your SmarterSign account.
