Before You Begin

Before pairing a new player, ensure that:

  • Your player device is set up and connected to a display
  • The SmarterSign Player software is installed on the device
  • The player has an active internet connection
  • You have administrator access to your SmarterSign account

Pairing a Player Step by Step

Pairing a SmarterSign Player is a simple process. Once your SmarterSign Player is running you should see a paring code like the following image on your display. Please note that this will only be seen if the SmarterSign Player is running, is connected to the Internet, and is not already paired in the SmarterSign system.

Here's how you do it

  1. Click on the PAIR NOW button Pair Button for the Player you wish to pair
  2. Enter the pairing code into SmarterSign Manager and click the PAIR PLAYER button
  3. Your SmarterSign Player should now be paired and you should see a green status Green Status within a few second next to the status

Troubleshooting Pairing Issues

Pairing Code Not Displaying

  • Restart the player application
  • Verify internet connectivity
  • Make sure you don't have a firewall set that is blocking communication to the Internet.
  • Reinstall the player software if necessary

In some cases you may be on a network with restrictions that you can't see. In these cases you should contact your IT department to see if they can assist.

Pairing Code Not Accepted

  • Double-check that you're entering the correct code. The pairing codes are case sensitive and must be entered precisely.
